CD Review: Soundtrack For The Voices In My Head, Vol. 1 by Celldweller

Producer and multi-instrumentalist Klayton takes the reigns of this multi-chaptered music project, and creates an impressive soundscape that’s bound to grab your attention. This album shows no regard for the limitations of genre, but instead draws elements from multiple styles of music including drum & bass, ambient, industrial rock and classical orchestra. The result is a rich, multi-layered soundtrack that is broth intimidating and beautiful. There is a pleasant balance and equilibrium between physical instruments and synthesizers, combining analogue and digital formats into a tantalizing musical chimera. A preference towards mid-tempo tunes means that this isn’t a typical dance album, but its diversity means that it there is something that will appeal to fans of various music scenes. There’s something very grand and exciting about the way this album intertwines manic DnB drums and driving hard rock guitars with soaring orchestras and euphoric synth, that’s sure to make the listener feel like a hero in their own sci-fi action epic.

Score: 8/10
