Announcing the spectacular “Beyond The Redshift” Festival in London
Saturday 10th May will see London host an audio-visual experience built around a concept and line up curated and headlined by Sweden’s CULT OF LUNA. An artist who for over a decade has helped mould and expand the notion of what heavy music can be, the diverse musicians they have put together should come as no surprise to those familiar with their music.
Announcing the stage splits, Johannes from Cult of Luna had this to say:
“As most of you now know, we will have Claes join us for a special 2 hour set at Beyond the Redshift. We don’t like talking about set lists so won’t discuss what songs we will play. We’re taking the audience through a show, a rollercoaster of dynamics – we don’t want to destroy the surprise element. All bands are listed below under the stage that they’ll play. We’ll reveal exact stage times soon, but you should know that all the other bands in The Forum (God Seed, God Is An Astronaut, Jesu, Amenra) will play full 1 hour sets, as will Amplifier in The Dome. The venues are a 7-8 minute walk apart, The Forum and The Dome won’t clash, so hopefully you’ll be able to see everything you want to see.”
There is also one final artist addition: Further Down. A young, classical pianist from the Czech Republic who rearranged the whole of Cult of Luna’s ‘Somewhere Along the Highway’ and recorded his own versions, which are available here: http://furtherdown.bandcamp.com/album/these-tracks-must-end-2

The cosmological redshift is caused by the expansion of space. The wavelength of light increases as it traverses the expanding universe. Unable to assume that we have a special place within this universe, the redshift suggests to us that everything is moving away from everything else…
We may not be able to go beyond the redshift, but we can certainly think beyond it. We are bringing together artists who expand within their space – artists who create something special within this space.
